Georgia football OL makes NFL combine history
Georgia Bulldogs offensive lineman Monroe Freeling entered the 2026 NFL combine with high expectations. Some draft experts thought that Freeling's combine performance could have him in the conversation to be a top-10 pick.
Freeling's measurements and athleticism lived up to the hype and then some at the combine. He became the first player in NFL combine history to be at least 6-foot-7, 315-pounds and post a sub-5.00 40-yard dash, a vertical jump over 30 inches and a broad jump over nine feet.
Freeling's combine performance puts him squarely in the conversation to be a first-round pick. He has limited starting experience from his time at Georgia, but he could continue to improve as he takes his game to the next level.
During the 40-yard dash, Freeling was one of just five offensive linemen to reach a speed of 20.3 miles per hour. He was among the top performing offensive linemen in the 40-yard dash (and the 10-yard split), the vertical jump and the broad jump.
Freeling posted a 4.93 second 40-yard dash time (tied for fourth among OL) including a 1.71 10-yard split (second-best among OL). The big tackle also finished in the top five at his position with a vertical jump of 33 1/2 inches and a broad jump of nine feet and seven inches.
