For Argentina and Spain, Sunday's 2026 FIFA World Cup Final is a chance at eternal glory.

For fans of burritos at Chipotle, the World Cup Final is a chance to get a free entry with a fun giveaway being done during the game.

Chipotle announced in the week leading up to Sunday's championship game that there'd be an opportunity for fans to claim a prize.

How does the Chipotle World Cup free burrito giveaway work?

This promotion is set to give away 100,000 free burritos, or other entrees, during the second half hydration break of the World Cup Final between Spain and Argentina.

To participate, fans will need to go to Chipotle's Instagram at the time of that second half hydration break.

They'll post a video in which three identical cups move around, and fans will track which one contains lemonade.

Once that cup is identified, a code will appear.

That code will need to be texted to 888-222, and the first 100,000 fans to do so will receive a free entree deal that works through July 24.

When is the second half hydration break for Chipotle's promotion?

The hydration break is supposed to happen at the first whistle following the midpoint of the second half.

In a 45-minute half, that means approximately 67 minutes and change on the clock (22-plus minutes into the second half). It shouldn't happen before then, but it can always happen a little bit later than that.

As far as actual time -- the 3 p.m. ET match has a 30-minute extended halftime, so the second half will kick off sometime around 4:15 or 4:20 p.m. ET. That puts this opportunity sometime after 4:30 p.m. ET.
