Gabe Landeskog on what went wrong

“Those two shots, post and in. At the end of the day, we’ve got to find a way to score some goals on the other side in the first 50 minutes of the game. We had a lot of pressure. … We felt really good about our game and then a short lapse for two minutes, and they scored two goals.”

Jack Eichel on Vegas’ comfort with playing from behind

“Yeah. Obviously, we were able to come back. We were able to come from behind down a goal. I thought we played a patient game. We had some chances. We had some chances early. Credit their goalie, he made some big saves. Just want to try to defend hard, and when you get an opportunity, capitalize. I thought we did a good job of that.”

Jared Bednar on how the Avalanche can climb back in this series

“It’s attitudinal first, right? Like, what type of attitude and belief do you have in your team? How do you get your mind set to go do what you need to do to play? It doesn’t guarantee you a win in Game 3, it just doesn’t. We know that we played our butts off tonight, and we didn’t win, but that doesn’t mean we can’t go play a similar game in Game 3 and win.

“Someone’s going to need to make a play on the offensive side, then capitalize on a chance, clean up a couple of mistakes we made tonight, but to me, it’s attitude. And these guys have put in a lot of really good hard work on this season, and it started the day we probably lost out last year, so I feel like we’ll fight to the bitter end. And again, it doesn’t guarantee you anything, but it’s the only way to have any sort of chance is if your attitude’s right, your focus is in the right place, and then you go and get ready to play the game as best as you can possibly play.”

John Tortorella on how the Golden Knights pulled it off

“We found a way. I thought the key part of the game was a real struggle in the second period for us, but we still entered the locker room just down 1-0. I thought that was a key moment of the game. We felt like we were in a good spot going into the third, down by a goal, in this building, Game 2, we just wanted to keep playing.”
