Indy 500 results: Full finishing order for race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway

The 2026 Indianapolis 500 came down to a one-lap shootout.

In a photo finish, Felix Rosenqvist overtook David Malukas for his first win in the iconic annual IndyCar race on May 24 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. It was the closest margin in the event's 110-year history — 0.0233 seconds.

Scott McLaughlin rounded out the top three.

It looked like Rosenqvist was cruising to the checkers before Caio Collet brought out the red flag with a single-car crash with seven laps to go.

The race went green with five laps left, lasted only a lap before a yellow flew and returned to normal for a one-lap sprint to the line.

Rosenqvist survived more than three hours of action, including a brief stoppage for rain. The race featured 70 lead changes by 14 drivers.
