On a recent episode of ESPN’s Get Up, the former NCAA champion emphasized that while Wembanyama had an impressive average of 26.0 points during the series, he faced challenges against opponents Karl-Anthony Towns and Mitchell Robinson.

Williams suggested that Wembanyama should focus on refining his post-up skills during the offseason to enhance his game. “(He needs) a signature move on the post. Look, he’s one of the most talented players the game of basketball has ever seen – 7’4″, can move on the perimeter like Kevin Durant. Not the same handle as Durant, but you know what I’m saying,” he remarked. He also stressed the importance of developing a back-to-the-basket move, noting that Tim Duncan is available for guidance, urging Wembanyama to take advantage of that opportunity.

After the Spurs were eliminated in five games, Wembanyama and his teammates quickly retreated to the locker room, a move that garnered some backlash from fans and commentators. However, Williams defended their decision, stating, “Shaking hands is what you do when you’re in the little leagues. When you’re in JV.
