Jonquel Jones is MVP of 2026 WNBA All-Star Game after dominant double-double

Jonquel Jones stuffed the stat sheet at the United Center in Chicago with 22 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists, earning the MVP award of the 2026 WNBA All-Star Game after powering Team Spoon to a 129-122 victory on Saturday, July 25.

Jones is the first New York Liberty player to win the All-Star Game MVP. She reached double-double territory in just her first 13 minutes of action.

The veteran forward — who was the Finals MVP in 2024 and league MVP in 2021 — becomes just the fourth player in the WNBA's history to win all three MVP awards at least once. She joins Lisa Leslie, Maya Moore and Candace Parker in the exclusive club, and is the only player in league history to have all three of those honors plus MVP of the Commissioner's Cup.

"Just coming out everyday to play, trusting my teammates," Jones told ESPN, adding that her aunt passed away recently and she received permission from her family to attend the All-Star Game instead of the memorial service.

Skylar Diggins-Smith is still the only player to have a triple-double in the All-Star Game, pulling that feat off last year. Jones' Team Spoon teammate — Minnesota Lynx rookie sensation Olivia Miles — also flirted with a triple-double, notching 11 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists.

For the Liberty this season, Jones is averaging 14.8 points, 9.2 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.1 blocks per game.

Had Team Coop won the game, MVP honors might've gone to Indiana Fever guard Kelsey Mitchell, who had a game-high 28 points. Toronto Tempo guard Marina Mabrey also had 23 points for Team Coop.
