Jordan Clarkson Celebrates NBA Championship with New York Knicks
New York Knicks guard Jordan Clarkson is reveling in a monumental achievement as he secures his first NBA championship title. This victory comes after the Knicks triumphed over the San Antonio Spurs, marking the franchise's first championship win since 1973. For Clarkson, this victory holds special significance, as it occurred in his hometown of San Antonio.
In the Finals series, Clarkson contributed valuable minutes on the court, playing a total of 30 minutes across four games. In Game 4, he recorded 10 points and three rebounds, helping his team clinch the title. Over the regular season, Clarkson averaged 8.6 points per game while shooting 45% from the field after joining the Knicks last summer.
Clarkson's victory is particularly noteworthy as he becomes the first former player from the Utah Jazz to win an NBA championship since Jeff Green, who played briefly for the Jazz in the 2019-20 season before claiming a title with the Denver Nuggets in 2023. The only player in Jazz history to both make an All-Star team and win a championship with another team is Mehmet Okur, who won his title in 2004 with the Detroit Pistons.
After being traded to the Jazz in December 2019, Clarkson quickly earned a reputation as a fan favorite, demonstrating his scoring ability and versatility. Over six seasons with the Jazz, he played in 342 games, averaging 17.5 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game. He notably won the Sixth Man of the Year award in the 2020-21 season, scoring an impressive 18.4 points per game off the bench.
As Jordan Clarkson celebrates this significant milestone, fans in Utah are undoubtedly proud of his accomplishments and contribution to the game.
