Maxime Comtois Signs with Spartak Moskva for Upcoming KHL Season
Maxime Comtois, a former NHL player, is set to join Spartak Moskva for the 2026-27 KHL season. This move marks another transition for the 27-year-old, who has spent the previous two seasons with Dynamo Moskva, where he established himself as a key contributor.
During his time with Dynamo, Comtois demonstrated his scoring ability, netting 21 goals and providing 29 assists for a total of 50 points over 62 games in his first season. In the following season, he recorded 19 goals and 15 assists, bringing his total to 34 points in 54 games.
Comtois' last NHL appearance was in the 2023-24 season, where he played a single game for the Carolina Hurricanes, managing to tally an assist. Although he signed a professional tryout contract with the Vegas Golden Knights, it did not lead to a permanent position on the roster.
Originally selected by the Anaheim Ducks in the second round of the 2017 NHL Draft, Comtois faced challenges during his NHL career. Over six seasons, he participated in 211 games, scoring 38 goals and assisting on 49 others, but ended with a -35 rating. Now, he is finding success overseas, which has been encouraging for fans and followers of his career.
