Monday Mock Draft Round Up: 7 sets of 1st-round Cowboys picks 12, 20
Following this past week's scouting combine, there are warnings to go out to everybody. Don't double count a trait. If a large part of a player's scouting report centered around their elite athleticism, then the needle shouldn't be moved because they tested out of the gym. If a player was seen as winning despite being an average athlete, unless they completely bombed the testing (and being average when others are breaking records isn't bombing), then don't take away from their ranking, either.
A good test of what will be available for the Dallas Cowboys when they arrive on the clock for picks No. 12 and No. 20, if they stay put, is to look around the draft community and see how they think things will play out ahead of and for those picks.
Here, we'll round up a sample of respected draft names and see who they have shipped to the Cowboys at their two first-round selection spots. There's a consensus on positional needs, with the 14 selections covering just four positions: Cornerback, safety, Edge and linebacker.
There are also four players who had their names evoked multiple times.
