Musiala to Lead Germany's Attack Against Curaçao in World Cup Opener

Jamal Musiala is set to take the field as a starter for Germany in their World Cup match against first-time competitors Curaçao. The FC Bayern midfielder was a standout performer for the national team during the previous World Cup, but his recent season has been marred by a lengthy recovery from a serious injury.

Despite discussions sparked by Jürgen Klopp and Thomas Müller suggesting that Deniz Undav could be a preferable choice for the starting lineup, head coach Julian Nagelsmann has reaffirmed his decision to rely on Musiala. “Musiala could only get into rhythm if he has playing time. And he'll get that tomorrow,” Nagelsmann stated during his recent press briefing.

After being sidelined for ten matches due to his injury sustained during the Club World Cup, Musiala made a return in friendly matches against Finland and the USA. The 23-year-old has already netted nine goals in his 42 appearances for the German national team.
