Navajo Stirling Aims to Establish Dominance in Light Heavyweight Division at UFC Vegas 119

LAS VEGAS – Undefeated fighter Navajo Stirling is eager to demonstrate his prowess as he prepares for his upcoming bout against Ion Cutelaba at UFC Fight Night 279. With a perfect record of 9-0 in mixed martial arts and 4-0 in the UFC, Stirling plans to solidify his reputation as a top contender in the light heavyweight category at the Meta APEX.

This match marks Stirling's second appearance this year, following his impressive second-round victory over Bruno Lopes in March. Although Cutelaba boasts a wealth of experience with a record of 20-11-1 in MMA and 9-10-1 in the UFC, Stirling remains unfazed by his opponent's background.

When asked about his objectives for the fight, Stirling expressed his ambition clearly. "That I'm the best up-and-comer at light heavyweight," he told MMA Junkie and other media representatives during a recent media event. "No one looks like me, no one fights like me, no one moves like me, or makes the decisions I do. I don't make poor decisions in the cage."

Stirling emphasized his strategic approach to fighting, likening his analytical skills to that of artificial intelligence. "I'm able to match the intensity of the pacing of a fight – is this guy shooting a lot? Is he trying to grapple? Is he trying to move back? Is he trying to move forward? All those things are being processed in my mind. I'm like a robot in there or AI in there, you know? Just dissecting it down," he explained. However, he remains aware of the unpredictable nature of the sport, acknowledging that "things could go horribly wrong too, so I'm prepared for that."
