Nebraska lands star mid-major big man transfer
Coach Fred Hoiberg is looking to build on the momentum the Cornhuskers built during the 2025-2026 college basketball season. Nebraska scored a victory in the transfer portal recently, landing a commitment from former South Dakota State big man Damon Wilkinson.
Wilkinson stayed close to home during his freshman and sophomore seasons with the Jackrabbits. The De Smet, South Dakota, native averaged 13.9 points and 6.4 rebounds per game last year, taking on an elevated role in just under 24 minutes per game.
Most of Wilkinson's damage comes near the rim, as the 6-foot-10 forward shot a touch under 59 percent from the field last season.
💥💥DAMON WILKINSON IS N!
The 6’10 Sophomore from SDSU averaged 13.9 ppg and 6.4 rpg last season.

Wilkinson also got to the free-throw line just under five times per contest last year in the Summit League, and it'll be interesting to see if that holds next season in the Big Ten against likely improved competition.
