NFL free agency: 6 linebackers for Broncos
As the Denver Broncos approach NFL free agency, two of their inside linebackers are scheduled to become unrestricted free agents, making ILB a high priority for the club.
With that in mind, here's a quick list of five free agent linebackers Denver could consider in the coming weeks.
1. Devin Lloyd: The 27-year-old former first-round pick earned Pro Bowl and second-team All-Pro recognition in 2025 after totaling 81 tackles, five interceptions (one returned for a touchdown) and 1.5 sacks. Spotrac.com estimates he has a $20.1 million market value, which might put him out of the Broncos' budget.
2. Alex Anzalone: The 31-year-old veteran was drafted by the Saints in the third round of the 2017 NFL draft (New Orleans was coached by Sean Payton at the time). He's played for the Lions since 2021, totaling 95 tackles, 2.5 sacks and one interception last fall.
3. Justin Strnad: After starting 16 games over the last two seasons, Strnad has made it clear he does not want to re-sign unless he's given a full-time starting role. The 29-year-old linebacker has recorded 131 tackles and 7.5 sacks since 2024.
4. Quay Walker: A former first-round pick, Walker racked up 469 tackles, nine sacks and one interception (returned for a touchdown) in four seasons (57 starts) with the Packers. The 25-year-old defender should draw plenty of interest during free agency.
5. Alex Singleton: Another in-house free agent, Singleton totaled 135 tackles last fall, once again leading the team despite missing one game after undergoing surgery to remove testicular cancer. Denver has said they want to re-sign both Strnad and Singleton, but it's hard to imagine that being possible if Dre Greenlaw remains with the club in 2026. Singleton will turn 33 in December.
6. Leo Chenal: The two-time Super Bowl champion has totaled 218 tackles, seven sacks and one interception through his first four years (44 starts) with the Chiefs. The 25-year-old linebacker's rookie contract is set to expire next week, making him an unrestricted free agent.
NFL teams can begin negotiating with pending free agents from other clubs on March 9, but potential signings won't become official until the new league year begins on March 11. Teams can re-sign their in-house free agents at any time. Singleton and Strnad will be key names to watch for the Broncos.
