Oregon Ducks dominate early wave of 2027 NFL mock drafts

In the week after the NFL draft, it has become customary for the entire football world to quickly put aside what just happened and look instead to the future. This means that in the days following the 2026 draft over the weekend, we have seen an onslaught of 2027 mock drafts, predicting which college stars of today are going to be NFL stars of tomorrow.

It appears that a lot of those stars happen to reside in Eugene, Oregon.

Whichever way you look, it's impossible to find a mock draft that doesn't have at least a couple of Oregon Ducks landing in the first round next year, with guys like Dante Moore, A'Mauri Washington, and Jamari Johnson getting a lot of early attention. This caught our eye and led me to conduct a bit of research.

For this project, I went through five 2027 mock drafts — ESPN, The Athletic, CBS Sports, Tankathon, and Todd McShay — and kept track of how many different Ducks were mentioned in the first round, how high or low they were predicted to be selected, and what the highest number of Ducks in a single round was. Here's what I found:

  • A total of seven Oregon players were mentioned as first-round players.
  • Two of those seven players were selected in all five mock drafts used for this project.
  • The highest any Oregon player was selected was No. 2 overall (Dante Moore, twice).
  • The highest number of Ducks in a single mock draft was five (program record is two).

Let's take a look at the Ducks who could potentially hear their names called.

QB Dante Moore

Combat Ducks quarterback Dante Moore throws a pass during warmups during the Oregon Ducks annual spring game on April 25, 2026 at Autzen Stadium in Eugene, Oregon.

Earliest Pick: No. 2 overall

Latest Pick: No. 3 overall

Analysis: It feels pretty likely that Dante Moore is going to be a top-five pick if everything goes as expected this year. Moore was mentioned in all five of the mock drafts we looked at, and in two of the five mock drafts, Moore goes No. 2 overall, to either the Arizona Cardinals or New York Jets, with the other three mocks slating him at No. 3 overall. In all of these mock drafts, Texas Longhorns QB Arch Manning is the No. 1 overall pick.

DL A'Mauri Washington

Oregon defensive lineman A'Mauri Washington, left, pressures Wisconsin quarterback Hunter Simmons as the Oregon Ducks host the Wisconsin Badgers on Oct. 25, 2025, at Autzen Stadium in Eugene, Oregon.

Earliest Pick: No. 10 overall

Latest Pick: No. 28 overall

Analysis: A'Mauri Washington is the other Oregon player who was mentioned in all five of the mock drafts that we looked at. The Athletic had him the highest, going to the Carolina Panthers at No. 10. He also could find his way to the bottom of the first round, but it feels like consensus at this point that he lands in Day 1.

TE Jamari Johnson

Earliest Pick: No. 13 overall

Latest Pick: No. 22 overall

Analysis: Todd McShay is the only draft analyst we looked at who didn't have Jamari Johnson hearing his name called in the first round. He goes as high as No. 13, per the Athletic, but could also slip into the early 20's. In four of the five mock drafts, he was the first tight end taken off the board.

EDGE Matayo Uiagalelei

Earliest Pick: No. 17 overall

Latest Pick: No. 27

Analysis: Matayo Uiagalelei showed up in three of the five mock drafts that we looked at, going as high as No. 17 overall, or as low as No. 17 overall.
