Paddy Pimblett Criticizes Ilia Topuria After Title Fight Loss
Ilia Topuria faced off against Justin Gaethje in the highly anticipated main event of UFC Freedom 250, entering the arena as the clear favorite to secure the lightweight title unification. However, when the fight concluded, Topuria was left bloodied and defeated, prompting his corner to stop the match after the fourth round. Gaethje emerged victorious, claiming the undisputed UFC lightweight championship on the South Lawn of The White House.
Among those who had faith in Gaethje's potential for an upset was Paddy Pimblett, who previously lost to Gaethje at UFC 324 in January. Prior to the championship bout, Pimblett expressed confidence in Gaethje's abilities, stating, “As I’ve seen saying, I know he’s the underdog. I know everyone’s counting him out, lad, but he did it against me.” He also referenced Gaethje's knack for spoiling major fights, mentioning past matchups with Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov.
After witnessing Topuria's defeat, Pimblett did not hold back in his criticism. On his YouTube channel, he accused Topuria of quitting, exclaiming, "Oh my God, you quit. You little b***h." He emphasized Gaethje's talent, reiterating, “Justin Gaethje, man, the ultimate spoiler. What did I tell you? I said he was going to win didn’t I.”
Pimblett further chastised Topuria's performance, saying, “You quit like a little b***h. My face was worse than yours, you little p***y. I went five with him. I took every f**king shot that he threw at me and kept walking forward.” He concluded with a sharp critique of Topuria's resolve, stating, “This little b***h just quit after four rounds.”
The fallout from the fight has ignited discussions about fighter resilience and the pressure of championship expectations in the UFC.
