As the New England Patriots gear up for the 2026 season, fans will get an early look at how they stack up against outside competition following the release of a training camp schedule, featuring joint practice sessions with the Indianapolis Colts and Philadelphia Eagles this August.

Joint practices before the preseason matchups usually don't carry too many stakes, but this year's sessions with the Eagles will be fueled by high-octane drama. Just two months after the Eagles traded superstar wide receiver A.J. Brown to New England in a blockbuster June deal, the three-time Pro Bowler will share a field with his former team for the first time.

The highly anticipated practices in Foxborough will not only provide some entertainment but also some insight into how the Patriots are preparing for a Super Bowl run.

Indianapolis Colts

Indianapolis was one of the biggest up-and-down teams in the 2025 season, starting the season 7-1 before Daniel Jones tore his Achilles against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 14. The Colts lost seven straight games to end the season, a disappointing end to a year full of optimism.

In 2026, Indianapolis figures to be right back in the playoff race, assuming Jones returns healthy. The Colts have one of the best running backs in the NFL in Jonathan Taylor — who had nearly 2,000 total yards and 20 touchdowns — along with Alec Pierce and Josh Downs on the offensive end.

Maye and co. will face off against the Colts defense that acquired superstar cornerback Sauce Gardner from the New York Jets in 2025.

Philadelphia Eagles

Philadelphia enters the 2026 offseason hoping to put a chaotic 2025 campaign behind them. After starting the year hot, the Eagles' defense struggled down the stretch under heavy personnel changes, and a late-season offensive slump cost them the NFC East crown in the final weeks of the season.

In 2026, the Eagles remain prime Super Bowl contenders, boasting one of the most explosive and physical rosters in the league. Under Nick Sirianni, the offense features Jalen Hurts alongside superstar running back Saquon Barkley and the dynamic DeVonta Smith, giving defensive coordinators nightmares before even factoring in their draft additions like rookie receiver Makai Lemon.
