Phillies Bring Joy to Sisters with Heartfelt Surprise
In Wynnewood, Pennsylvania, two young sisters experienced a touching surprise on Tuesday, thanks to the Philadelphia Phillies and a local company, "King Swings." The beloved Phillie Phanatic appeared to bring joy to the girls and their mother by unveiling a specially crafted swing set, along with Adirondack chairs for the adults and a new doghouse for their puppy.
Four-year-old Izzy and her older sister, 11-year-old Grey Hoffman, are navigating life after the recent passing of their father, Lou, due to a rare illness. In a bid to lift their spirits, the Phillies enlisted the help of their landscaping team to create a beautiful garden, install a hammock, and set up a Hawaii-themed fire pit as a nod to the family’s roots in the Aloha State.
Among the attendees for this heartfelt event was former Phillies pitcher Dickie Noles, who shared in the joyful moment with the family. The Hoffmans are also receiving ongoing support from "Peter's Place," a community partner of the Phillies that offers grief counseling to families coping with loss.
The swing set was custom designed and constructed by King Swings, a family-owned Amish business based in Chester County. This thoughtful gesture exemplifies the strong bonds of community and support during difficult times.
