Rams Strengthen Defensive Lineup by Signing Tomon Fox to One-Year Contract
WOODLAND HILLS, Calif. -- The Los Angeles Rams have taken steps to enhance their defensive lineup by signing linebacker Tomon Fox to a one-year deal, as announced on Tuesday. Fox, who has spent the initial four years of his NFL career with the New York Giants, brings valuable experience to the Rams' roster.
During his tenure with the Giants, Fox participated in 37 games, making two starts from 2022 to 2025. The 28-year-old's career stats include 38 tackles, with 22 being solo efforts, along with two sacks, five tackles for loss, and four quarterback hits. His contributions also extend to special teams, where he logged 557 snaps and recorded seven tackles, showcasing his versatility and reliability.
As the Rams continue to reconfigure their roster in preparation for training camp, Fox's addition provides both depth and a wealth of experience. He has proven his ability to perform in various roles, which is particularly important for a team that has seen considerable changes in its pass-rushing unit in recent seasons.
Originally from Lawrenceville, Georgia, Fox entered the league as an undrafted free agent after playing college football at the University of North Carolina. There, he had a standout career, featuring in 60 games with 48 starts, amassing 124 tackles and 29.5 sacks, which ranks third in the program's history. His senior year earned him Third-Team All-ACC recognition after he achieved 33 tackles and a career-high 8.5 sacks.
The Rams' signing of Fox adds an experienced edge rusher to their defensive ranks as they gear up for the 2026 season, marking a strategic move to enhance their competitive edge in the league.
