Rangers' Corey Seager Out Due to Mild Concussion, Manager Reports
Corey Seager, the shortstop for the Texas Rangers, will miss his third consecutive game as he is currently recovering from a mild concussion, according to manager Skip Schumaker. This update came prior to the Rangers' matchup against the Boston Red Sox on Sunday evening.
The injury occurred during a game against the Kansas City Royals on Thursday, when Seager attempted to score from first base on a double by Brandon Nimmo and collided with catcher Carter Jensen. Despite the incident, he continued playing and managed to hit a home run during that game.
This season has been challenging for Seager, who is batting only .186 with nine home runs and 24 RBIs. Earlier in the season, he faced a separate setback, missing 19 games in May and early June due to lower back inflammation.
As the Rangers look to strengthen their lineup, Seager's absence adds further pressure as they navigate the ongoing season.
