Raúl Jiménez Makes Comeback at Wolves with New Contract
Wolverhampton Wanderers has officially announced the return of Raúl Jiménez, as the seasoned Mexican forward has signed a two-year deal with the club, which includes an option for an additional year. The 35-year-old is making his return on a free transfer after a three-year stint at Fulham, where he concluded his time in the Premier League.
This move comes as Wolves gear up for the upcoming season in the Championship following their relegation from the Premier League last year. Jiménez is a beloved figure among fans at Molineux, having enjoyed a successful first term at the club from 2018 to 2023. During that period, he netted 57 goals in 166 matches, contributing significantly to one of the club's most notable eras.
In his previous tenure, Jiménez was pivotal in helping Wolves secure a seventh-place finish in the Premier League during the 2018/19 season and played a crucial role in their advancement to the quarter-finals of the Europa League the next year. With this signing, he becomes Wolves' second acquisition of the summer, following former England full-back Kieran Trippier, who also signed a two-year contract.
Before rejoining Wolves for club commitments, Jiménez will be concentrating on the upcoming 2026 World Cup, where he is expected to take on a central role for the Mexican national team. Mexico's campaign kicks off against South Africa on Thursday.
