Brody Pfannenstiel Changes Commitment from Texas Tech to Wisconsin

MADISON – After initially committing to Texas Tech in March, Brody Pfannenstiel has shifted his allegiance to the University of Wisconsin. The edge rusher from Kansas made the announcement on June 16, marking Wisconsin's 23rd commitment for the Class of 2027. The Badgers have been actively pursuing Pfannenstiel, and their efforts have finally borne fruit.

Pfannenstiel, who hails from Hoisington High School, joins a growing list of recruits who have chosen Wisconsin in recent weeks. Just days prior, Pewaukee offensive lineman Jack Tabbert decommitted from North Dakota State, and four-star cornerback Mekhi Williams switched from Florida State to Wisconsin. Both of these flips indicate a successful recruiting period for the Badgers.

The 6-foot-4, 225-pound Pfannenstiel made his decision after an official visit to Wisconsin from June 5-7, followed by a trip to Texas Tech the previous weekend. He expressed his excitement on social media, stating, “100% Committed. 🦡🔴 #OnWisconsin.”

Ranked as a three-star prospect by Rivals, 247Sports, and ESPN, Pfannenstiel is considered the No. 4 recruit in Kansas. His recruitment saw interest from several schools, including Vanderbilt, Mississippi, and Missouri, alongside offers from programs like Kansas, Illinois, and Michigan State.

With Pfannenstiel's commitment, Wisconsin continues to build a versatile defensive lineup, joining fellow recruits Isaac Miller and Darin Graham at the edge position. This approach allows the Badgers to equip themselves with players who have varying physical attributes and skills to adapt to different offensive strategies.

Following this latest recruitment success, Wisconsin's Class of 2027 is currently ranked 18th overall and seventh in the Big Ten according to 247Sports, while Rivals places them at 24th overall and ninth in the conference.
