Ravens’ 2026 EDGE room brings math-changers, complementary skillsets

The 2026 NFL season is nearly here! Training camp kicks off next week, and to help get you prepped for the regular season, Yuri (@Yuri_Ravens on X) is previewing each of the Ravens’ position rooms, starting with edge rusher skillsets and scheme fits:

  • Technically refined
  • Can either use power (long arm) or speed around the edge
  • Punch timing combined with efficient hand usage

  • Ghost and speed rushes, as well aa cross chop

  • 55.1 % of pass rush wins with a power move (bull rush/long arm)

How do they fit in Jesse Minter’s scheme?

The Chargers relied on a four-man rush 72.6% of the time in 2025. They often used stunts and twists to game players into favorable matchups and momentum. Minter’s system asks EDGEs to maintain gap integrity, maintaining a “reacting front” – which emphasizes discipline, assignment execution, and funneling runs inside.

Minter will also roll out pressure packages with three edge rushers. In 2024, Joey Bosa, Khalil Mack and Tuli Tuipulotu shared the field on 44 such dropbacks. On those snaps, they produced 10 sacks and a 22.7% sack rate. Mack was stationary at one edge spot while Tuipulotu and Bosa were moved around.
