Real Madrid Plans Additional Signings This Summer Despite Recent Acquisitions
Real Madrid's summer transformation under Jose Mourinho is progressing rapidly, with the club already securing agreements for four new players, although none of the transfers have been officially announced yet. The latest player to come to a verbal agreement is Marc Cucurella, whose deal could be finalized as early as today. Cucurella will join Ibrahima Konate, Denzel Dumfries, and Bernardo Silva as the fourth addition to the squad.
According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid is not finished in the transfer market. The club intends to pursue further signings even after finalizing the Cucurella deal. This ambitious approach signifies the club's determination to overcome two consecutive trophyless seasons.
Club president Florentino Perez had pledged a standout Galactico signing during his election, and Mourinho is eager to tailor the squad to meet his vision. Fans can anticipate more movement in the transfer market in the weeks ahead.
Romano reports that Cucurella's contract includes a guaranteed fee of €55 million with an additional €5 million in performance-based add-ons, totaling €60 million. This acquisition addresses one of the defensive gaps that Mourinho aimed to fill, part of a broader strategy to revamp the team's defense, midfield, and wing positions.
Additionally, Mourinho is set to officially begin his role as head coach on July 13, following the signing of a three-year contract. Former Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira is expected to be appointed as his assistant coach, further enhancing the coaching staff.
