Lead slips away: A two-goal lead wasn't enough for Sporting Club Jacksonville men's soccer, whose quest for a first-ever winning streak was thwarted by second-half goals from Brooklyn FC's Juan Carlos Obregon and Tommy McNamara in a 2-2 USL Championship draw on July 18.

Speedy Sporting start: Sporting Jax jumped out fast, scoring twice in the first 10 minutes. Emil Jaaskelainen found the net three minutes in off Tyshawn Rose's assist, and Edgardo Rito then set up Ahmad Al Qaq for a ninth-minute strike at the University of North Florida's Hodges Stadium.

Penalty levels game: The 35-year-old McNamara, who played more than 200 Major League Soccer games before joining Brooklyn (3-8-4), set up Obregon's goal and then tied the score after referee Nabil Bensalah whistled Sporting Jax captain Ryan Edwards for a 74th-minute foul against Markus Anderson.

Quick free kicks: Goalkeeper Jake McGuire recorded two saves for Sporting Jax (1-11-5). … The club added more defensive reinforcements with the signing of right fullback Marcus Godinho, who has five appearances for Canada's national team. Godinho was not in uniform for Saturday's game.

Up next: Sporting Jax travels to El Paso Locomotive FC at 9 p.m. on Saturday, July 25.
