Stage 14: World Class Domination from Pogacar
The greatest cyclists in the world gathered once again to tackle the great Le Markstein.
Before the GC portion of Stage 14, Alpecin-Premier Tech controlled the pace for Jasper Philipsen to get maximum points, as he has been struggling to win a stage this Tour.
Ben Healy of EF Education-EasyPost led a breakaway group with a strong presence from the rest of his teammates and Visma-Lease a Bike, Jonas Vingegaard.
Valentin Paret-Peintre edged out Richard Carapez on the first climb.
As the breakaway lost their lead to a charging Jonas Vingegaard with 2.5km to go, Pogacar salivated at the opportunity to take advantage.
Just 1km later, Pogacar launched ahead to win his 25th Tour stage win. Pogacar is now 4th all-time in stage wins. Realistically, he has the ability to become the greatest of all time with both stage and Tour wins.
Tadej’s teammate Isaac del Toropounced to beat both Paul Seixas, the 19 year old french wonderkid from Decathlon CMA CGM, and Jonas Vingegaard.
Seixas now wears the white jersey for best young rider beating out the former UAE young star Juan Ayuso, who is now with Lidl-Trek.
Tadej Pogacar dominated the field as all hope fades from his competitors.
