Texas A&M's 2027 class stays atop Rivals' latest Top 25 rankings

Texas A&M coach Mike Elko, entering his third season at the helm, is close to securing the No. 1-ranked 2027 recruiting class after landing four-star linebacker Mikahi Allen earlier this month, while five-star running back Landen Williams-Callis remains the lone uncommitted priority prospect, who will reportedly announce his decision on Saturday, August 1.

With a nation-high six five-star commitments in the cycle, Elko and his staff have addressed every position, especially in the offensive and defensive trenches, landing four O-line commitments and five Edge/defensive tackle commits, led by five-star Edge Zyron Forstall. Entering his second full starting season, starting quarterback Marcel Reed's successor is yet to be determined, while four-star QB commit Jayce Johnson possesses the traits to become the next Aggie signal-caller.

After years of struggling to land top-ranked wide receiver prospect under former head coach Jimbo Fisher, Mike Elko has completely flipped the script after transfer wide receivers KC Concepcion and Mario Craver combined for 1,836 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns, and landed four blue-chip WR commits in the 2026 recruiting class, including standout freshman Aaron Gregory.

This success continued in the 2027 class, landing four commitments from five-star Eric McFarland, four-star Jayden Upshaw, and three-star wide receivers Demani Warren and Trey Haddad, who all look like future starters and perfect fits in new OC Holmon Wiggins' scheme.

After five-star cornerback and Texas commit John Meredith reclassified to the 2026 class, I fully expect the Aggies to finish with the No. 1-ranked class, and in Rivals' latest rankings update, Texas A&M remains at No. 1.
