UCLA Signs Four-Star Defensive Lineman George Toia
UCLA football has added four-star defensive lineman George Toia to its Class of 2027 recruits. Toia reportedly chose UCLA over other top programs like Texas, Michigan and Penn State.
Toia attended three days of UCLA’s spring practices earlier this week before committing to the Bruins on Thursday. 4s up!!!🐻 @ByronNelsonFB@coachwoodwardhttps://t.co/1nmesverL8— George Toia 4⭐️ (@ToiaGtoia) April 30, 2026
Toia is a 6-foot-1, 300 pound defensive lineman from Bryan Nelson High School in Trophy Club, Texas. He started his high school career at Bishop Montgomery in Torrance, California before moving to Texas before last season.
Toia is the fifth, four-star recruit in the Class of 2027 to commit to UCLA. He joins safeties Pole Moala and Khalil Terry, linebacker Colton McKibben and tight end Zac Fare in that group.
Toia is the Younger Brother of Jay Toia
One reason Toia committed to UCLA was likely his familiarity with the program and Westwood through his older brother, Jay Toia.
Defensive lineman Jay Toia played all four seasons of his collegiate career with the Bruins from 2021-24. He started in 36 of the 50 career games he played with UCLA across those four seasons. The 2024 All-Big Ten Honorable Mention was a big part of UCLA’s rushing defense during his senior season in 2024.
After his career with UCLA, the Dallas Cowboys drafted Toia with No. 217 pick in the seventh round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Toia logged three total tackles in five games with the Cowboys during his rookie season.
Now, George Toia will follow in his brother’s footsteps and start his collegiate career with the Bruins in 2027.
