UFC 328 results: Sean Brady outclasses Joaquin Buckley for lopsided win

Joaquin Buckley had no answer for Sean Brady on the ground.

Brady (19-2 MMA, 9-2 UFC) shut out Buckley (21-8 MMA, 11-6 UFC) for a lopsided unanimous decision win (30-25, 30-25, 30-27). The welterweight bout was on the UFC 328 main card at Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.

Buckley stormed forward to take the center of the octagon at the start of Round 1. His high kick was blocked by Brady. Brady landed a left then clinched, but Buckley broke free. Brady immediately shot right after, but was denied once again. Buckley threw a kick, which landed, but Brady drove right through him and landed the takedown. Brady transitioned to the mount and started landing big punches. He started working for a kimura, but Buckley defended well.

Brady opened up Round 2 with a head kick, which missed. He got the takedown less than 30 seconds into the round, right into side control. Brady transitioned to the mount and landed ground and pound. Buckley wormed his way up, and defended Brady's immediate shot. However, Buckley threw a kick, which was caught and resulted in another Brady takedown. Brady once again seamlessly got a full mount and started landing Donkey Kong punches. He rode the rest of the round in full mount while continuously throwing strikes.

Buckley's coaches urged him not to throw any kicks. Brady missed on his first takedown attempt in Round 3, but landed the double leg on his second attempt. Brady was content in side control as he contemplated the arm-in guillotine choke. He let that go and got full mount. Brady continued to rain down punches until the bell rang.

In his post-fight octagon interview with Joe Rogan, a fired-up Brady reminded everyone that he's a top-five fighter after rebounding from his stoppage loss to Michael Morales at UFC 322.
