Vote for the preseason Savannah area Flag Football Player of the Year

Flag football is widely considered the fastest growing sport in the United States and is set to be included in the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.

It's popularity was on display in Savannah last weekend when 200 girls showed up for a Flag Football Camp put on by "The Factory,'' — a highly-respected training group run by Savannah's Rob DeLoach.

Flag football has been on the rise in Georgia High School Sports. The Georgia High School Association started a state tournament for Flag Football in 2020, with two enrollment classifications competing. Last year, five state champs in five enrollment classifications were crowned.

Calvary Day is the only team from the Greater Savannah Area to win a state title, as the Cavs won in 2020 taking home the Division I crown.

Last year, Jenkins reached the Division 2 state finals, where the Warriors gave nationally ranked Greenbrier a battle in a 20-13 setback.

We recently published a list of the top returning flag football players in the Greater Savannah area for the 2026 season.
