Warriors guard Stephen Curry takes home prestigious humanitarian award
Golden State Warriors star and former two-time MVP Stephen Curry took home another award Tuesday night, receiving the Muhammad Ali Sports Humanitarian Award. Curry was recognized for his impact, creating the "Eat Learn Play" foundation.
The former Davidson product beat out two NFL players for the award, as Damar Hamlin (Buffalo Bills) and the recently retired Adam Thielen were the two other finalists.
The award was presented to Curry by the wife of the late Muhammad Ali, Lonnie Ali. With the award, Curry joins a long list of legendary athletes to receive the honor, including NBA players Jrue Holiday, Chris Paul and Curry's former teammate Kevin Durant. Other notable athletes to receive the honor include Chris Long, Nelson Cruz and Albert Pujols.
