What team did LeBron James go to? Here are the favorites
If you thought the LeBron James' free agency situation would become clearer this weekend, we have some bad news.
There's now two teams tied atop the latest odds for where James will play this upcoming season.
Pretty much since the New York Knicks hoisted the NBA Championship in June, the Cleveland Cavaliers were the favorite to land their hometown guy, and according to Kalshi, they've been the top team on betting odds.
Not anymore.
The Cavaliers are still favored to get him, but now they are tied with another team.
Both Cleveland and the Golden State Warriors have a 33 percent chance at landing the King as a free agent this offseason.
That means theres a two-out-of-three chance that James will be playing in either Cleveland or Golden State. But there are other teams still hanging in.
The Miami Heat, a team James knows very well, is No. 3 on the list with a 17 percent chance to get James. The 76ers are just below the Heat with a 14 percent chance.
Minnesota comes in next with a three percent chance to land James and the New York Knicks now have a two percent shot. No other teams have more than 1 percent chance.
When will LeBron James sign?
James is in New York this weekend for Fanatics Fest, but don't think just because he's in the public eye he'll rush his decision.
Even NBA Commissioner Adam Silver is hoping for a resolution to this, but James stated from the start he is going to take his time, and he's lived up to his word.
"I guess all politics are local. The way I think about it is, we have to finish up the schedule," Silver said. " And where LeBron plays will affect the schedule. So I would like him to make his announcement already, so we can finish the schedule, because, as you might imagine, the teams are calling us, the networks are calling us, and everybody wants to lock in the schedule. But it will influence how we set the schedule, how we set opening week, Christmas Day, etc. So I need him to make a decision."
