Rajasthan Royals will be hoping to clinch the playoff spot in the Indian Premier League 2026 as they take on Mumbai Indians on Sunday at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

After a prolonged injury break, Rohit Sharma first made a comeback against Lucknow Super Giants, where he scored 84 runs in 44 balls and helped MI chase down 229 runs. 

However, in the next match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, he started well but was dismissed early in the innings as he could score just 22 runs in 10 balls.

Against Punjab Kings, he struggled to get going. The lack of feet movement was evident as Yuzvendra Chahal broke through his defence with a hint of spin, and the stumps were rattled. Although he hit two sixes, there were no boundaries in his innings of 25 runs off 26 balls.

In the previous match, against Kolkata Knight Riders, he was dismissed for just 15 runs in 13 balls.

According to MI head coach Mahela Jayawardene Rohit is "100 per cent fit," and is likely to play the team's final match of the season.

“Yes, he had a hamstring injury. We gave him the time that he needed to recover from that and then he came back," Jayawardene said.

“The first game also, we were cautious even with his batting, the way he was running because he had to adapt to it slowly, gradually coming back into it. But for me, the medical team, everything is 100 per cent."
