A baseball game at West Virginia University took a dangerous turn when strong winds swept through the event, sending tents flying into the crowd and resulting in injuries to five spectators, according to FOX Weather.

The incident occurred during a weather delay at the sold-out game held at Kendrick Family Ballpark in Granville, where the Mountaineers were vying for their first trip to the Men's College World Series. As storms rolled in, a powerful gust lifted a large tent, sending it across a parking lot and striking fans outside, as captured in a video by attendee Melissa McBee-Anderson.

The chaos was particularly evident at Randy's Ridge, a popular grassy area where many fans gather under tents to watch the game. Video footage depicted the tents tearing loose, with people rushing for safety as equipment was tossed around by the wind.

According to the West Virginia University Police, five individuals were taken to the hospital for treatment, and first responders present at the game provided immediate medical care. After the delay, the Mountaineers returned to the field and secured a decisive 17-1 victory over Cal Poly, earning their place in the Men's College World Series.
