The New York Knicks demolished the Cleveland Cavaliers 130-93 in Game 4 to reach their first NBA Finals since 1999. What was supposed to be a tussle for heavyweights ended meekly for the Cavaliers as they folded in a decisive fourth game.

This had the NBA stars and analysts buzzing as the Knicks now wait for their opponent in the Finals.

How the NBA World Reacted to the Cavaliers’ Dismal Game 4 Loss to the Knicks

Leading into the Conference Finals, the Knicks vs. Cavaliers was expected to be a gritty contest loaded with stars on both sides.

However, New York’s clinical start to the series and Cleveland’s struggle on both ends of the floor made it a rather one-sided contest.

The NBA world took to social media to weigh in on the Knicks’ four-game sweep against the Cavaliers on Monday night.

Donovan Mitchell led the Cavaliers with a gritty 31 points. James Harden and Evan Mobley had 12 and 15 points each. However, the Knicks overpowered the side with a well-rounded performance from their stars.

Analyst Nick Friedell wrote, “Aside from the last few minutes of Game 1, can’t remember a more boring series than this one. What a complete no show by the Cavs.”

NFL star Robert Griffin III minced no words, writing, “This is the worst Eastern Conference Finals I’ve ever seen.”

Former Cavs star Channing Frye called out the Cavaliers: “Looks up definition of “quit” sees Cavs team.”

Providing a more detailed take was hoops handle Ball Don’t Stop: “Cavs 100% had the talent to matchup with the Knicks, but lacked the heart and gamesmanship. That G1 collapse broke them and you could visibly see it on their faces ever since. The championship level teams can bounce back from that.”

“The Cavaliers have to feel so weird right now. Despite making the Eastern Conference Finals, they had an 8-10 record the playoffs. Seriously. 8-10,” added Legion Hoops.

The Athletic’s Law Murray posted, “Analytically, the Cavaliers got their a**es completely kicked.”

Former NBA star Ron Harper shared his two cents: “Being a @cavs ex player it’s disappointing seeing them lay down and the coach being unaccountable in the series. It’s the eastern conference finals and you lay down don’t just blame James harden look at it all!!!!!”

New York continued its dominant run in Game 4, with Jalen Brunson finishing the night with 15 points and Karl-Anthony Towns recording a double-double with 19 points and 14 rebounds. OG Anunoby and Mikal Bridges had 17 and 15 points each.

Brunson, named the Conference Finals MVP, averaged 25.5 points and 7.8 assists and will look to lead New York to its first NBA championship since 1973.
