2026 NFL Draft: Tennessee Titans select G Fernando Carmona in Round 5
With the 142nd overall pick, the Tennessee Titans select guard Fernando Carmona out of Arkansas.
The offensive line is the first line of protection for Cam Ward, and last season, the quarterback found himself on the ground or scrambling. A lot. With some of the questions along the line answered, the Titans still have Kevin Zeitler to deal with, and Carmona is someone who can stand on the interior and hold his ground.
He will complement J.C. Latham on the right and solidify the interior offensive line for the Titans' rising quarterback.
Carmona played on the left side throughout his collegiate career, switching from tackle to guard in his senior season. Given he's already seen a position switch and handled it well, the Titans could move him to the right side, or they could move Peter Skoronski over, or Carmona could take over Dan Moore's spot at left tackle.
No matter what they decide, Carmona gives the offensive line some solid depth and flexibility.
Carmona may not profile as a Day 1 starter, largely because his technique and body awareness need further development, but the good news is that his weaknesses are absolutely fixable.
The Titans may have a sleeper with this one, if they can develop him appropriately.
