Adolis García Exits Game with Right Shoulder Injury
TORONTO (AP) — In a setback for the Philadelphia Phillies, outfielder Adolis García left the game against the Toronto Blue Jays on Wednesday night during the seventh inning. His exit came after he made a series of throws to home plate in response to sacrifice flies.
Steward Berroa replaced García, who was later diagnosed with a pulled muscle in his right shoulder. The team announced that he would undergo further evaluation to assess the severity of the injury.
Prior to his departure, García had a challenging night at the plate, finishing 0 for 3 with one walk. This season, he has struggled to find his rhythm, currently holding a batting average of .195 along with seven home runs and 21 RBIs. In December, García signed a one-year contract worth $10 million with the Phillies.
