Ameer Speed Joins the Dallas Cowboys After a Series of NFL Stops
The NFL offseason is bustling with activity as teams make strategic roster adjustments. Recently, the Dallas Cowboys made headlines by signing Ameer Speed, a former defensive back from Michigan State University.
Speed, who previously played at Georgia before transferring to Michigan State, had a notable 2022 season with the Spartans. Following his collegiate career, he was selected in the sixth round of the 2023 NFL Draft by the New England Patriots. Since then, he has had brief stints with the Chicago Bears, Indianapolis Colts, and Houston Texans.
In addition to Speed, the Cowboys announced the signings of offensive lineman Chris Glaser and wide receiver Denzel Mims. The team also made some roster changes, including waiving defensive back Corey Ballentine and wide receiver Romello Brinson, while placing center Matt Hennessy on the Reserve/Injured list.
As the Cowboys prepare for the upcoming season, Speed's addition could provide a valuable opportunity for him to prove himself in the competitive NFL landscape.
