Arizona Diamondbacks Gameday Thread, #46: 5/18 vs. Giants
Just going to turn the intro over to a D-backs press release today, for something which I think deserves note.
Executive Vice President & General Manager Mike Hazen, alongside the Diamondbacks Foundation and with matching support from the Barrow Women’s Board, will present a $200,000 donation to Dr. Nader Sanai and the Ivy Brain Tumor Center during tonight’s pregame ceremonies as part of the D-backs’ Brain Tumor Awareness Day at Chase Field. Hazen and two of his four sons, John and Sam, will honor the memory of his late wife and their late mother, Nicole Hazen, who lost her battle with glioblastoma in 2022, and celebrate continued progress in brain tumor research and treatment.
The Ivy Brain Tumor Center at Barrow Neurological Institute is a leader in innovative brain tumor research and clinical trials focused on accelerating treatments for glioblastoma and other aggressive brain cancers. To date, Hazen and the Diamondbacks Foundation, through the Nicole Hazen Fund for Hope, have donated more than $2 million to support glioblastoma research, treatment and clinical trials in Nicole’s honor.
