Arizona Secures Commitment from Texas Defensive Back Jaylen Oliver
Arizona's football program welcomed a number of recruits over the weekend, leading to some key commitments for the future. Among those who visited was Jaylen Oliver, a defensive back hailing from Texas, who became the first to declare his commitment following the official visits.
“100% COMMITTED!! 🐻⬇️ Blessed to announce my commitment to University of Arizona. Thank you to my family, coaches, teammates, and everyone who has helped me along the way. Ready to get to work!” tweeted Oliver, expressing his excitement about joining the Wildcats.
The 6-foot, 170-pound safety competes for Westfield High School in Houston. During his junior season, he made a significant impact on the field, accumulating 41 tackles, including two for a loss, along with two interceptions and three pass breakups. Although Oliver has yet to receive a ranking from 247Sports, he has garnered attention from various programs.
With 15 reported scholarship offers, Oliver selected Arizona over other contenders like Illinois, Louisiana Tech, and Mississippi State, among others. He is one of two recruits from the 2027 class to commit to Arizona recently, joining three-star defensive back Luke Stevens.
Currently, the Wildcats have secured a total of seven commitments for the 2027 recruiting class, marking a promising start to their future roster.
