Ashton McCulloch Opens RBC Canadian Open with Steady Even Par Round
The PGA Tour has returned to Canada, featuring the RBC Canadian Open at TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley in Ontario. Among the competitors is Ashton McCulloch, a recent graduate of the Michigan State golf program. Hailing from Kingston, Ontario, McCulloch is making his third consecutive appearance at this prestigious event.
In his opening round, McCulloch carded an even par score of 70, placing him in a tie for 98th position. His round included four birdies and four bogeys, reflecting a balanced yet inconsistent performance. Although currently positioned low on the leaderboard, he is only two strokes away from the cut line, which provides hope for advancement.
To secure his place for the weekend rounds, McCulloch will need a strong showing on Friday, where he is scheduled to tee off at 2:16 p.m. on the first hole. The competition remains tight, with the leaders sitting at six under par, indicating that a solid round could quickly change his standing.
