Barcelona agree to extend Patricio Pacifico’s loan for another season after ACL injury
Barcelona have confirmed they have reached agreement with Defensor Sporting Club to extend Patricio Pacifico’s loan deal for another season.
Pacifico arrived in the winter transfer window and was making a good impression at Barcelona but then sustained a torn ACL that saw him sidelined
The defender is not expected to play for a year but Barca are keeping the faith.
Here’s the club’s statement:
“FC Barcelona and Defensor Sporting Club have reached an agreement to extend the loan of player Patricio Pacifico for another season, until the end of the 2026/27 season. The agreement includes maintaining the purchase option that already existed for the Uruguayan defender at the end of the season.”
The news should be a boost for Pacifico as he recovers from an awful injury that will keep him out of action for a very long time.
Let’s hope he makes a full recovery and can make an impact at Barcelona when he returns.
