Chelsea's Andrey Santos set to join Manchester United in $67 million deal
Manchester United have reached an agreement to sign Chelsea midfielder Andrey Santos in a deal valued at £50 million ($67.09 million), as Michael Carrick appears set to confirm his first official acquisition.
The Manchester Evening News understands that Santos is poised to make a permanent move to Old Trafford after negotiations between United and Chelsea progressed significantly over the past 48 hours. United have committed to paying £48 million ($64.4 million) upfront, with an additional £2 million ($2.68 million) available through add-ons.
Personal terms between United and the player have been finalized. As part of the arrangement, a 10 percent sell-on clause has been incorporated into the deal, meaning Chelsea will receive a portion of any future transfer fee.

However, it appears Carrick will secure his target to partner Ederson in midfield, with the Brazil international set to arrive from Atalanta now that their FIFA World Cup campaign has wrapped up.
Whether his potential arrival will extinguish United's pursuit of Real Madrid star Aurelien Tchouameni remains to be seen.
Santos, meanwhile, has received clearance to travel to Manchester to undergo a medical and is now on the verge of completing his switch to Old Trafford.
The 22-year-old, the first player to arrive under Todd Boehly's tenure at Stamford Bridge, looks set to fill the void left by Casemiro following the expiration of his contract on June 30.

The Brazilian midfielder served as a rotation option under both Enzo Maresca and Liam Rosenior last season, racking up 42 appearances for Chelsea. That marked his first complete campaign in England following mixed loan stints with Nottingham Forest and RC Strasbourg.
Santos was named in Carlo Ancelotti's preliminary 55-man World Cup squad for Brazil back in June.
He was ultimately cut when the roster was trimmed to 26 players, though Ederson received a late call-up as an emergency replacement following Wesley's injury just days before the tournament got underway.
Having enjoyed some rest ahead of pre-season, Santos will provide Carrick with a timely boost as the interim manager looks to push through another addition to the squad before their friendly fixtures in Finland, Norway, Sweden, and Ireland.
