Baseball: Dates, locations set for remaining regional, state tournament games

May 19—As OHSAA state baseball tournament play began Monday, May 18, the dates and sites for the state semifinals and final for each of its seven divisions was unveiled.

Akron's 717 Credit Union Park, the home of Cleveland Guardians minor league affiliate Akron RubberDucks, will be the primary site of the tournament's final rounds. Thurman Munson Memorial Stadium in Canton also will have games played.

Akron will host semifinal games for Divisions I, IV and VI, and all seven championship games. Canton will host the other semifinal games for D-II, III, V and VII.

Most games will be played between June 11-13. The D-IV title game will be the only game on June 14.

Tickets will be sold as all-day passes for the semifinal and finals games at a site and are only sold at www.ohsaa.org/tickets. It is also noted that 7 17 Credit Union Park is a cashless facility.

The remaining Southwest District regional sites — which had yet to be announced at the time of the bracket draw — also have been approved.

Day Air Ballpark will be featured as the site for regional semifinal and final games for both D-II, Region 8, and D-IV, Region 16.

The Region 8 semifinals will be at 2 and 5 p.m. on June 2, and the final at 5 p.m. on June 4. Region 16 semifinal games will take place at 2 and 5 p.m. on June 3, and the final at 2 p.m. on June 4.

The D-VI, Region 24 semifinal and final games will be at Newton High School. Semifinals will be at 2 and 5 p.m. on June 2, and the final at 5 p.m. on June 4.

Newton was originally announced as the host site for the D-VII, Region 28 regional games. That regional has been moved to Cedarville University's Yellow Jacket Field, which was also the site host last season.

The other Southwest District regional sites were not altered from the original announced locations.
