Brandin Podziemski Discusses Warriors' Strategy for No. 11 Draft Pick
Brandin Podziemski, the 19th overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, recently shared his insights with the media about what the Golden State Warriors should prioritize with their upcoming No. 11 pick in the 2026 NBA Draft. He emphasized the importance of selecting a player who possesses both experience and physical readiness to contribute immediately. "Someone that has experience and is physically mature enough to play in the games right away," Podziemski noted. "I think that's kind of where we're at as an organization. We're at the stage where we're trying to win as much as we can. So I think with the 11th pick, you just got to look for a guy that's ready to come in and make the impact right away."
In his rookie season, Podziemski showcased his own ability to make an immediate impact, averaging 9.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 0.8 steals per game, ultimately finishing fifth in the NBA Rookie of the Year voting. His successful debut season serves as a testament to what the Warriors might seek in their next draft selection.
With this being the Warriors' highest draft position since 2021, there is a sense of optimism within the organization. The team has previously found value in later picks, including players like Will Richard, Quinten Post, and Trayce Jackson-Davis, and they hope to replicate that success with their No. 11 selection this year.
