Nolan Cain Leaves Texas Longhorns to Join Texas A&M Coaching Staff

SAN MARCOS, TX - Nolan Cain, the associate head coach and recruiting coordinator for the Texas Longhorns, is set to leave his position after two seasons to take a role at Texas A&M. According to a report from D1Baseball, Cain will reunite with Aggies head coach Michael Earley, with whom he previously collaborated during their time together at Texas A&M under former head coach Jim Schlossnagle.

During his tenure at Texas, Cain played a pivotal role in securing key recruits like Carson Tinney and Aiden Robbins, both of whom significantly contributed to the Longhorns' recent venture into the College World Series. Cain's track record as a recruiting coordinator speaks for itself; over his nine years in the position across various programs, he has been instrumental in achieving eight top-10 recruiting classes, including six that were ranked in the top five nationally.

His efforts culminated in his first full recruiting cycle at Texas, where he helped the Longhorns achieve the nation's top recruiting class, as recognized by both Baseball America and Perfect Game. Cain's extensive experience also includes a successful playing career as a four-year letterman at LSU.

The move marks a significant shift for both Cain and the Longhorns program as he returns to College Station, where he will continue to build on his reputation as one of the country's elite recruiters in college baseball.
