Brewers Fall Short Against Braves in Close Contest

ATLANTA, GA - The Milwaukee Brewers faced disappointment in their series opener against the Atlanta Braves, losing 3-2 despite having opportunities to tie the game in the ninth inning. This defeat marks the first loss for pitcher Jacob Misiorowski since April 19th, when he last faced the Miami Marlins.

Throughout the game, the Brewers struggled offensively, leaving a total of 11 runners on base. They managed to score first in the third inning, when Brice Turang delivered an RBI single, giving Milwaukee a brief 1-0 advantage. However, the offense faltered after that, with only sporadic threats until the eighth inning.

Martín Pérez, who had historically struggled against the Brewers, turned in a commendable performance, allowing just one run over six innings while striking out five batters. The Braves capitalized on Misiorowski’s misstep in the sixth inning, loading the bases and ultimately taking the lead with a two-run single by Mauricio Dubón.

Abner Uribe took over pitching duties in the seventh but quickly allowed a solo home run to Mike Yastrzemski, extending Atlanta's lead to 3-1. The Brewers fought back in the eighth but failed to convert a critical opportunity, leaving the tying run stranded once again.

In a nail-biting ninth inning, the Brewers had Christian Yelich walk and Chourio hit a double, but despite Turang’s successful at-bat to bring in a run, the inning ended with a runner caught at home plate. With this loss, the Brewers are now looking to bounce back against a tough Braves lineup, as they prepare to face Chris Sale, who boasts an impressive 2.30 ERA, while Kyle Harrison will take the mound for Milwaukee. The second game of the series is set for 3:10 p.m. tomorrow.
