Browns May Consider Trading Former Tennessee Receiver Cedric Tillman

The Cleveland Browns are generating considerable buzz as they navigate a transformative offseason. With a new coaching staff in place following the dismissal of Kevin Stefanski, and ongoing quarterback discussions surrounding Shedeur Sanders and Deshaun Watson, the team is in a state of flux. The recent trade of franchise icon Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams has added another layer to the Browns' evolving roster.

As the Browns refine their lineup ahead of the upcoming season, Cedric Tillman, a third-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, has been mentioned as a potential trade candidate. Tillman, who had a solid collegiate career at Tennessee, made three starts during his rookie season, but he has yet to emerge as a standout player. Despite showing promise with some impressive catches, his performance has been hampered by inconsistent offensive support.

This offseason, the Browns have bolstered their wide receiver group by bringing in Denzel Boston, KC Concepcion, and Tylan Wallace, which could limit Tillman's playing time significantly in 2026. With this crowded competition, Bleacher Report's Moe Moton recently suggested that Tillman could be an asset for trade if he finds himself buried on the depth chart behind Jerry Jeudy, Concepcion, Boston, and Isaiah Bond.

Moton remarked, “If Tillman falls to fourth or fifth on the depth chart... he could be a trade asset.” He emphasized that for Tillman to have a meaningful role, he may need to pursue opportunities elsewhere with teams that have a less crowded receiver lineup. The Washington Commanders and Las Vegas Raiders are identified as potential landing spots where Tillman might secure more playing time.

While the Browns may not fetch a high return for Tillman at this stage, several teams could view him as a worthwhile investment in their receiving corps.
