Carlos Jorge Continues Stellar Performance for Double-A Chattanooga

Cincinnati Reds prospect Carlos Jorge is showcasing his talent with the Double-A Chattanooga Lookouts, recently hitting his sixth home run of the season during a game against the Pensacola Blue Wahoos on June 2. In addition to his power hitting, Jorge also secured his 16th stolen base, bringing his batting average to an impressive .341 and his OPS to .935.

The 22-year-old outfielder earned the title of Southern League Player of the Week for May 26-31, achieving a remarkable batting average of .455 during that stretch, while scoring nine runs and recording four stolen bases along with a stellar OPS of 1.129. Currently, Jorge is ranked as the 16th top prospect in the Reds' organization according to MLB Pipeline.

Earlier this season, Jorge demonstrated his defensive prowess in a game with the High-A Dayton Dragons, where he made a spectacular over-the-shoulder catch against the Fort Wayne TinCaps, albeit with a collision that required him to be carted off the field.

Signed by the Reds from the Dominican Republic for $495,000 at the start of the delayed 2020-21 international signing period in January 2021, Jorge is quickly making a name for himself in the minor leagues.
