Chargers face huge long-term Akheem Mesidor decision

The Los Angeles Chargers had an urgent need to address their pass rush, and the franchise did that in the NFL Draft, taking Miami's Akheem Mesidor.
One of the better pass rushers in the draft, Mesidor lasted to pick no. 22, which some think is due to his age (25).
That has been a big talking point for fans when discussing the Mesidor selection, as he likely won't be in the NFL for as long as others due to his age.
And one NFC executive thinks the Chargers have a big decision coming down the pipeline.
"He's going to be a really good first-contract guy, there's little doubt about that," an NFC executive said via ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. "The question becomes what do you pay him when he's close to 30 and wants a new deal?"

Do Chargers have Mesidor problem?
It depends on how you view it.
Yes, the age could be a little concerning, but if Mesidor plays well, gets seven or eight sacks each season, and is a disruptive presence for the defense, will fans care? Not likely.
The age isn't ideal, but it certainly isn't a deal-breaker either.
If Mesidor plays well, and the time comes to pay him, if you're comfortable, you pay him. If not, tag him or trade him. It is likely that simple.
The Chargers have a long time before worrying about this scenario, and a lot can play out between now and then. Including Mesidor dominating on defense for years.
