Clay Roberts Named First Head Coach for Men’s Soccer at Florida Polytechnic University
Florida Polytechnic University has officially appointed Clay Roberts as the inaugural head coach for its new men’s soccer team. With an extensive coaching background spanning 20 years in both collegiate and professional arenas, Roberts is well-equipped to lead this budding program.
Prior to his new role at Florida Polytechnic, Roberts was the head coach at Southeastern University, where he achieved significant success. He became the all-time winningest coach in the program’s history, guiding the team to three Sun Conference tournament titles and four appearances in the NAIA national tournament.
Expressing his enthusiasm for the opportunity, Roberts remarked, “There’s something special starting to happen and grow here. When athletics was being launched, I was really excited because it was a great opportunity to build out a program. In my career, I’ve come to be a builder in the early moments of new projects and seen success.”
The men’s soccer program at Florida Polytechnic is set to kick off its inaugural season in August 2026, marking a significant milestone for the university as it expands its athletic offerings.
